Reinier Zonneveld "Centaur"

Reinier Zonneveld gets in touch with the spiritual side of techno, channeling airy grooves with new age influences in his Centaur EP.

Calling on the vocal prowess of Deva Premal, a musician known for her meditative spiritual new-age style, Reinier succeeds an unusual combination, pairing his trademark dynamic techno soundscapes with the songstress’ ancient Buddhist and Sanskrit mantra chants in Invocation.

Teaming up with Dutch veteran Secret Cinema results in Extreem, an upbeat and cloudy slice of mesmerising, straightforward deep tech that leaves no room for layovers. Dark synths, relentless basslines and cavernous elements come together to forge the perfect late night ambiance.

The eponymous title track comes in third, set forth by a chopped up vocal sample paired with a tight knit lead line. Incisive sound bites introduce a sharp synth sequence that swiftly takes over and establishes itself as central motif and relentless earworm.

A fitting finale to the release, The Groove stays true to its name, unfolding as a wavy melody with zig zagging layers and sinuous details. Spring-like particles wonder about on a backdrop of rolling bass and hard hitting, punchy drum pads, crafting a piece that’s equally immersive as it is dance-inducing.

Biography Reinier Zonneveld

Reinier Zonneveld, known as a live-act as well as a DJ and producer from the Netherlands, is ready to take over the world with his unique view on the genre Techno. He is currently signed on labels like Stil vor Talent, Intec, Minus and Tronic.

Zonneveld is just as comfortable with producing electronic music as with composing classical music. These orchestral skills shine through in his productions. With this very versatile and talented aspect of producing music, he doesn’t get stuck in boundaries of one specific genre. Blending elements of Ambient to melodic Techno and from Minimal to warehouse pounding Techno, he creates a very diverse yet effective form of electronic music - it's all in the mastermind and catalogue of Reinier Zonneveld.

Being a very productive music creator, Reinier plays almost only live sets, consisting of own original music. His energetic performances, perfect for peak time dancefloors, are highly in demand, with Reinier playing national and international gigs every week. This leads to bookings at, for example, the mainstage of Mysteryland in 2015, the Elrow stage in 2016 and the legendary Awakenings Festival in 2016. But also clubs like Watergate, Sisyphos, Uebel & Gefährlich and Westerunie are played by Reinier, sharing the stage with the same legendary artists that support his music. His busy touring schedule will see him play many more gigs throughout Europe and across all continents.

The numerous tracks he has produced received massive support from world class artists around the globe like: Oliver Koletzki, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Slam, Ricardo Villalobos, Adam Beyer, Sven Väth, Chris Liebing, Maceo Plex, Dubfire, John Digweed, Pan-Pot, Kaiserdisco, Monika Kruse, Paco Osuna, Karotte, Pig & Dan, Mark Knight, Gary Beck, Christian Smith, Noir, Secret Cinema, Oliver Schories, Marco Carola, Danny Tenaglia, Marco Bailey, James Zabiela, Axwell, Armin van Buuren and many, many more. His tracks also receive great support through platforms like Beatport, after scoring many hits in 2015 and 2016, like “Solid Block” on Intec, his remix for Noir and Oliver Koletzki, and “Sharp Bust” on Stil vor Talent, his 16 track album Megacity Servant dominated the charts. “Things We Might Have Said” even reached the number one spot. Not only in techno, but also in the main beatport chart, for weeks. Even on iTunes the album reached #1 and #2 in the Netherlands and Germany.

Next to releasing music on various renowned labels, he decided to take things a step further at the end of 2016. After collaborations and remixes for and by artists like Oliver Koletzki, Secret Cinema and Noir, he’s setting up his own platform “Filth On Acid”. The label will feature brand new collaborations between world class artists and Reinier Zonneveld released on vinyl & digital platforms. With that being said his musical future is very promising and we can expect great things from him. With plenty of fresh and exciting music, this sound will be the next big thing in the world of techno!
