Deniz Reno "Sometimes / Blue Eyes"

Lucky Sun Recordings presents the lovely vocals of Deniz Reno for the label’s eighth release, containing the smooth deep house wonders Sometimes and Blue Eyes.

The Canadian singer has found her voice on big releases for the likes of Armada Records and Black Hole Recordings, and has now stepped into the realm of stylish deepness led by the guiding hand of Lucky Sun. London’s Tom Lown produces as Lucky Sun and wraps Reno in a sophisticated soulful sound in his versions of both tracks, with the US west coast deep house sound of the 2000s as an influence.

Sometimes features a more direct four-on-the-floor and upfront vocal, giving the late night house music lounges some serious ear candy.

Blue Eyes has more of a downtempo edge, but with exquisitely lush and melodic layers that would soothe any savage beast.

Sub Orchestra, the project of Israel-via-Moscow producer Yuliya, also ambitiously tackles the tracks, offering a more pared-down deep house feel filled with crisp rhythms, swirly pads, and warm accompaniment to Deniz Reno’s melodies. Lucky Sun Recordings and Deniz Reno are here to breathe some warmth into everyone’s winter.

Biography Deniz Reno

With deep sultry vocals that resonate so far beyond her years, Deniz Reno is a young artist whose unique brand of soul captures the attention of the new generation while still paying tribute to the Motown legends of the past. Her songs, autobiographical and unapologetically honest, make her the quintessential artist, with a rare combination of vocal and songwriting talent, earning the respect of her peers for having a hand in co-producing and engineering many of her own projects. The level of success she has enjoyed as an internationally sought after vocalist - in the past two years can not only be attributed to her talent, but to her relentless drive and unparalleled work ethic.

In the recent years, Reno has become a sought after vocalist and songwriter, her work supported by world renowned DJs like Paul Oakenfold, Marcus Schossow and Myon & Shane 54. Reno’s collaborations in House & Deep House genres have been released on Armada Records, Planet Love Records, Perfecto Records, Clubstream Sweden, Radio Record Label & Radio Record Radio (Russia) and have aired on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Paraguay and in TV ads for Canada Philippine Fashion Week, (where Reno has been invited to walk the runway for two consecutive years in support of the Kol Hope Children's Foundation). Reno’s debut house collaboration “Higher”, released on Armada in April 2013 has been called “the next big thing to come from Armin Van Buuren's world renowned Armada music label” in reviews by and included as one of the Top 40 Summer Hits of 2013 on Armada's annual compilation.

Reno co-produced the music video for 'Higher' with Armada artist and 'Planet Love' label founder York, which was shot in Antigua & Barbuda, directed by York and Anderson Andrew of Planet Love Records/Armada. In the summer of 2014 Reno was invited to played a string of live shows in Moscow with Russian electric Blues harp star Alex Soloviev and his band, to great acclaim. In the past Reno has performed acoustic showcases internationally at acclaimed venues like the Ashford & Simpson's Sugarbar (NYC), The Village Underground (NYC), House of Blues (LA), Viper Room (LA), Club Masterskaya (Moscow), B.B. King (Moscow), DANDY (Moscow), The Opera House (Toronto). MOD Club (Toronto) and others.

This year Deniz Reno will release two vocal Deep House EPs with Spanish production duo Micah Sherman & Oliver Schmitz released via Beatport top 40 labels: Indiana Tones (Switzerland), and Hator Records (Bosnia). She has also contributed vocals to future releases by Conjure One (to be released on Armada Records, USA), as well as collaborations with Patrick Podage (to be released on Spirit Soul Records, Switzerland), Anton Ishutin (to be released on Pornostar Records, Hungary) and Marsbeing. Reno's long awaited solo record is currently being recorded and produced by Mike Schlosser at Little Noise Records in Toronto.
