Viva Recordings revisits Atnarko’s “This Feeling” single with a remix pack from Approved Electronic Device, a nom-de-plume of underground dance music stalwart Chris Fortier. Orlando’s Atnarko continues on his rise in deep house circles, with top notch cuts in his belt for the likes of Noir, Kolour, and Robsoul and the growing renown of his Infiltr8:Celebr8 parties. Atnarko’s double A-side single “This Feeling” / “Before Sleep” – his first for Viva Recordings – garnered praise from the likes of Anthony Pappa, Phonogenic, and Pete Moss and continues to be heard in sets a year later.

Fellow Orlando production don Chris Fortier has been a friend and collaborator with Atnarko since the ’90s, so it’s fitting that he tackles “This Feeling” with a remix from his Approved Electronic Device moniker. The mix begins with a deep, tribal groove that’s both crisp and beefy, accentuated with a simple but punchy bass motif. Mesmerizing stereo pads form the backbone of this cut, repeating in a dubby cycle as effected vocal drops occasionally beam into focus. Approved Electronic Device also supplies an ambient Reprise that adds lush, syncopated vocoder chords, as well as an old school-style Bonus Beats, showcasing the deeply percussive rhythm.

Biography Viva Recordings

Quality House Music From Seattle, WA USA, founded in early 1998, the goal was to consistently put out records that would be loved and played by many in the house music community. Viva Recordings found success with its first debut from Johnny Fiasco and the with Rick Preston's Altruism EP, which gained notoriety when "Spring Fling" was featured on Mark Farina's San Francisco Sessions Vol. 1. From these early releases the road was paved for Viva Recordings' success. Over the last few years we have been working on personal projects but now have decided to bring the label back and take the Viva name back. If you feel your music fits in the scope of our label please send demos to our A&R / Label Manager Chad Neiro at his email.
